Comment |
The Eta Carinae nebula is comparable to M42, the Great Orion Nebula. It is also visible to the unaided eye. The nebula is named after the highly luminous hypergiant star known as Eta Carinae that ejects matter in a bipolar manner. Center of the image you will see the Homunculus Nebula. This is an emission nebula surrounding the massive star Eta Carinae. The Eta Carinae nebula is also known as the Keyhole Nebula. This image is a crop of the Eta Carinae Wide Field image and is an LLRGB composite and is the new FSQ's first light image. |
