         Object M7 - Ptolemy's Cluster
         Comment Located in the constellation Scorpius, close to the galactic heart of our Milky Way Galaxy is the open cluster M7. The cluster consists of approximately 80 stars, which are brighter than magnitude 10 and varying spectral types. To the upper left of the image is the dark nebula B283, while to the lower right of M7 is B287. Also present is the open cluster Tr30, located below the dark nebula B287. M7 is estimated as being 800 light years away.
