         Object Thackeray's Globules in IC2944 (narrowband)
         Comment Discovered in 1950 by Andrew David Thackeray, these dense, opaque dust clouds located at the center of the presented image are known as globules. They are located in the active star forming region of IC2944, also known as the Running Chicken nebula. IC2944 is a complex nebulae comprising of various emissions. This narrow band image is mapped as Sulphur (SII) red, Hydrogen Alpha (Ha) green and Oxygen (OIII) as blue. The nebula is located 5,900 light years away in the constellation Centaurus.
