Located in the constellation of Scorpius is a peculiar looking dark nebula known as SL17 (Sandqvist and Lindroos 17). The nebula shape is likened to the side profile of a wolf or fenrir, as such is often referred to as the Wolf Nebula. SL17 is nested in the emission nebula RCW113 which is part of a much larger nebula complex as seen here. Image is a [Ha+R]GB composite |
