         Object NGC2174 - Monkey Nebula
Comment Amongst the other show-piece nebulae within the constellation Orion resides NGC2174, commonly known as the Monkey Nebula due to its monkey head like features seen in a much wider field of view than as shown here. At long focal lengths, the immense detail of this nebula is intriguing. It primarily consists of vibrant red Hydrogen Alpha emissions, but also reflection nebula properties along with strong dusty features. NGC2174 is located 6400 light year away.
